Thankful Thursday...

Major tragedy has struck our local Sheriff's Department... the same department that my husband serves as a deputy. Two detectives were shot in the line of duty on Tuesday night, one fatally. There's so much pain and sadness in the Sheriff's Department, within our community.
The reality that my husband's job is super dangerous has really set in... even in this small rural area that I have called home my whole life! I always knew that danger existed, but this tragedy has hit me hard!
I am asking for prayers... many, many, many prayers!
Please pray for the family of Detective Allen Pearson, who at 29, senselessly lost his life. He had such a promising career!
Please pray for the healing of Detective Ryan Dawson & his family's strength. He has come through one surgery, but has another major surgery to go... Please pray for my husband and his co-workers, as they grieve this loss of their "brother" and try to move past the pain. This DOESN'T happen here... It SHOULDN'T happen anywhere!!
On this thankful Thursday, I am so very thankful for the following:

  • I am thankful that my husband wasn't working on Tuesday night!
  • I am thankful for our law enforcement community... so often, they are unappreciated!
  • I am thankful that Ryan's condition has been upgraded from critical to serious, and that his life was spared.
  • I am thankful for the life of Allen and for his devotion to the department!

Prayer warriors... you know what to do & you know I love you!! ((HUGS))

My prayers are with everyone at this time. I am so saddened that this world has come to a point where this even happens.
