Do you know what I was doing on February 5th last year? Some of you do... some of my blogging buddies know all too well! They were doing the same exact thing...
On February 4th, we got "the call" saying we would be receiving Lilli's referral the next day. Yep... I was beside myself with anticipation. Danny had to work, so my Mom came over and waited with me. I was told we'd receive the package with Lilli's photo by 10:30... 11:00 passed... then 12:00... then 1:00... then I had to call FedEx, because their website tracking info said that it was "on route for delivery with a projected delivery time of 10:30 am"... yet no package?? I mean... FedEx had to know that this was THE MOST IMPORTANT PACKAGE THEY HAD EVER DELIVERED!!! So what was with the delay?? Well, apparently one of their trucks broke down and Lilli's referral was on that truck.
Finally, at 2:10 the FedEx truck came around the corner... VISUAL: I'm jumping up and down in the front yard, screaming "The Stork... he's here, he's here!!!" Then I asked the driver "do you KNOW you're the stork?" I made the poor guy pose for a photo with me. He had no choice & he wasn't amused. He was already late for every afternoon delivery!
I called Danny and he drove home as fast as his deputy car would carry him... My Mom (Lilli's Nana) decided that she needed to "rock" Lilli's referral while we waited for Danny to come home. She is a grandma you know... & that's what they do! While she did that, I waited on the front porch for Danny... video camera in hand. The footage is great... Danny turned onto our street with his blue lights flashing... Daddy was finally home!
SHE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL!! I was finally a Mommy and there was no doubt in my mind that Lilli was my daughter. I have tears in my eyes as I type this post... I don't think God could ever bestow a bigger blessing upon me. GOD IS SOOOOO GOOD!

I love your story! I am thankful we don't have to repeat the packing and paperwork craziness, but I would love to see everyone again!
Can you believe it has already been a year?
Take the time to celebrate and remember.
