Thankful Thursday

This Thankful Thursday, I am thankful that everything went smoothly with Lilli's nose carterization. She had to have both the left and right done due to terrible nose bleeds. She's been having nosebleeds on and off since we returned with her from China. As a baby we could not let her "cry it out" in the crib, because her nose would bleed as she became more upset. We tried our best to keep her calm and relaxed at all times. As time has passed, we have become increasingly aware of all of Lilli's allergies. Her nose bleeds have been getting worse, occuring daily, sometime twice or three times. Some of them are very difficult to stop. We have a daily regimen of warm steam vaporizer, saline spray, allergy medicine and nasal gel. Unfortunately, the nose bleeds just kept getting worse. Something HAD to be done.
Dr. Hosea doesn't feel that she should have an allergy test yet, as her immune system hasn't developed fully... and he wouldn't get an accurate reading. We know that she is very allergic to airborne allergens, such as cigarette smoke, pollen and dust. Dr. Hosea said her little nose was so swollen with allergic rhinitus. He took her off the Zrytec she's been taking for the last month and will reassess the situation again in a few weeks when her nose has healed.

I am so very thankful that it went well. Lilli was so BRAVE! Although she cried, she didn't move a muscle!! She's such a good girl!!! I am also thankful that Lilli hasn't had a nose bleed in two days!!  Woooo-hoooo!
