We had a busy holiday weekend, despite not traveling.... On Saturday night, we attended the Kinston Indian's game with our friends Bridget, Donnie and Kaitlyn. We had a super time!! The game was followed by fireworks.... and one of the players tossed Kaitlyn one of the game balls!! How cool is that? Miss Priss proceeded to pout, so Danny (who is wrapped around her finger) bought her one in the gift shop... a PINK one, no doubt!!! LOL
The girls really enjoy each other's company. So glad our families have found each other. We have so much in common. They attend Faith Fellowship with us, live right around the corner in our neighborhood and Bridget is my running partner.
"Sunday Funday" began with church, of course... to be followed by a BIG nap and swimming at Uncle John & Aunt Michele's pool. John and Michele weren't home, but gave us permission to take a dip with our friends. We had a terrific afternoon. Thanks John and Michele for having us over... despite not being home!!
On Monday, we went back to the pool for a while... and then Nana & Papa came over to grill hotdogs and to light off some of Walmart's finest fireworks!! This has become one of our family's favorite pastimes. Danny LOVES going to pick out several rounds. I think he plans his "firework shopping strategy" all year long!! :o)
Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July --- LONG weekend! My work week began too soon, but I am thankful for good times with family & friends... I am also thankful I had a job to return to on Tuesday morning!! TBTW, today's "Thankful Thursday" --- What are you thankful for today?
