What a busy weekend... and well, Lilli is just plain worn out!
We had new stairway bannister installed on Saturday by Danny's cousin Brandon. With Lilli now walking & attempting to climb the stairs from our playroom, we needed to quickly put something in place to better "child proof" the area. Lilli's fast as lightening and will scale the stairs in 5 seconds flat if you turn your back on her!!!
Brandon is studying construction management and will graduate in May 2009. He is very skilled in carpentry, so we have several projects lined up for him to help us with. The stair railing looks FABULOUS and we are so glad that he helped us out! While he was working, his fiancee' Tonya came over and we were able to visit with her for a while. She adores Lilli and we are so excited to have her join the family. Brandon and Tonya will be getting married one week after he graduates from college! Talk about a busy month for him!!
Sunday, we had 2 birthday parties to attend. My Father turned 74 on Friday. (Happy Birthday Dad!) We had a little party and lunch for him after church. Soon after Dad's party, we headed down the road to Princeton, NC to our good friend's home... Julie, Glenn and Anna Parker Heath. Julie is my oldest and dearest friend from Mount Olive College. Anna Parker (Lilli's future college roomie) turned 1 year old... Happy Birthday sweet girl! Lilli & Anna Parker had a blast playing after the party was over... and Lilli snored the whole way home. (Yes folks, she snores... LOUDLY!)
Danny's Grandmother is still in the hospital and will be released within the next few days. They opted to not have surgery on her shoulder, due to her age and limited mobility. They also said the surgery would be very painful, so she will just have limited use of her shoulder. The arm they did surgery on is an inch shorter now, because part of the bone was crushed... She will more than likely have physical therapy for it. She currently can not grasp anything. She's healing up well. She's a trooper... a real pistol!! I am amazed at how well she has done...
Lilli continues to struggle with her eye infection. She has now been prescribed eye drops to assist with the irritation. She apparently is scratching and rubbing her eye in her sleep. Bless her little heart... when she wakes up from naps her eye is sealed shut... but there isn't any "matter"?? I don't get it?? I will continue to trust the docs. They went to medical school, not me.
Hope everyone has a blessed Monday!
