Yesterday, after a terrific storm and much needed rain, the sky opened up to the most beautiful rainbow I have ever seen... a full rainbow. What a glorious vision & message from our Maker!
Genesis 9:12-17 - "Then God said, “I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come. I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth. When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds, and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life. When I see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth.” Then God said to Noah, “Yes, this rainbow is the sign of the covenant I am confirming with all the creatures on earth.”
Last night, we went to visit Lilli's Great-Granny Lillie in the hospital. If you have been following the blog recently, you'll recall that she took quite a tumble down her stairs last week. Although we thought she would be released sooner, she'll remain in the hospital for several more days. The doctors have decided to keep her a little longer, to better monitor her progress. Great-Granny Lillie was in such good spirits last night and enjoyed visiting with "her girl". Unfortunately, we were afraid that Lilli would be too "rough", so Danny held her in his lap. The two of them just gazed at each other... & it was moving to watch this beautiful elderly woman and our toddler interact.
This morning (proof-positive that we still have a lot of baby-proofing to be done) Lilli got Great-Granny Lillie's picture off a table in the living room and drug it into the our bedroom. She's never done this before and I thought it was so endearing. I guess our daughter's really "in tune" with what's going on with her Great-Granny. My favorite photo is of Lilli giving the her Great-Granny's picture "love"!
Lilli's teaching me so much... love lessons that I look forward to learning everyday!! So there you have it... from Rainbows to Great-Granny's, God's love for us and promises are everywhere... and for that we should ALL be thankful!!
Have a wonderful Thursday y'all!
His,
Jen
