Thankful Thursday...

Okay, so this Thankful Thursday is easily a continuation of last Thursday's post. We are still dealing with Lilli's teething issues.... and boy, are they bad! She's only got 7 teeth with one refusing to come through!! Therefore, I am VERY thankful for anything that helps Lilli with pain, as well as anything that allows all of us to sleep at night. Last night I only got 3 hours... Lilli got far more than that, but was crying out in her sleep all night long, poor thing... and well, Danny slept like a log!
This week I am thankful for pop ice & teething biscuits...
Lilli and I share a couple of pop ices everyday. I can only imagine that it helps numb her gums and feels so good. And then there's teething biscuits. We've tried the brand above and Lilli liked them... but she went through the box so quickly, I thought there had to be an easier way. I found this recipe online a few weeks back and decided to make a batch. Guess what? They are crunchy and tasty. (Great with a cup of coffee in the morning - lol) Lilli seems to really like them. She'll put one in each hand and knaw at them for 30 minutes or more. Hope it's doing some good. Here's the recipe I found.

Banana Teething Biscuit Recipe

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 egg yolks

2 tablespoon wheat germ

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1/4 cup sugar

1-1/2 cups banana rice baby cereal

1-2 teaspoon water

Preheat oven to 325°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet. Beat oil and egg yolks together then add the sugar, mixing well to combine. Add the remaining dry ingredients and fold into wet mixture until everything is combined. If this seems too dry, add 1 to 2 teaspoons of water. This dough will be very stiff. Knead dough and roll out into a log on a floured surface. Cut 1⁄4-inch slices from log and arrange on the baking sheet. You may make these any shape you like! (I use a heart shaped cookie cutter) Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes, flipping biscuits over halfway through bake time.
Hope everyone has a blessed day... ((hugs))
His,
Jen
