We have struggled over the last few months with Lilli sleeping in her own bed. Some nights she would, some nights she wouldn't... We began to question ourselves, how far do we push her to stay in her own bed?? It's our desire for Lilli to always feel like she is loved and accepted... & never to feel rejected. We believe that allowing her to sleep with us is a big part of her development and security with us, as her parents.
On Lilli's 2nd birthday in June, we decided we would try to convert Lilli over to sleeping in a daybed. She has so often slept with us in our bed... not always, but occassionally. Therefore, we thought the transition would be smooth, but not so! After 3-1/2 months of night time bouts of BIG tears & tantrums, Lilli is finally sleeping in her big girl bed... well, at least 5 or 6 hours a night. Not bad so far. She normally wakes about 2:00 a.m. & will crawl into bed with us... & I am okay with that. She seems to be sleeping a little longer every night too. Wooo-hoooo!

I recently had a talk with her, telling her that "now she's wearing big girl pants, it's time for her to sleep all night in her own bed!" She wasn't thrilled about the idea, but I think it sunk in!

What sweet pictures!! Her new bed looks very comfy!! Glad to hear she is doing well with the transition! My, how they are growing...too fast!! :)
They don't seem old enough to be sleeping in big girl beds do they? I had terrible time with Annika, but we are doing great now. She does sleep in her toddler bed in my room when dad's working a 12 hr. night shift, but instead of the screaming and calling MaMa over....it is working great for us.
